    I would like to update my landing page with an image behind the calendar that is now the main focus. Doing this through the settings will put the image on all pages, I simply would like to just have it display on the one page.

    You can do with custom CSS code. Go to Appearance > Additional CSS and paste the below CSS code

    body.home{background:url('http://link_to_image')};
